Dr. Susan Ambrose

Susan Ambrose, MD, FAAEM, FACEP, IFMCP, graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine and continued her medical training in Emergency Medicine at ChristianaCare in Delaware where she served as chief resident.  She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has worked over 25 years in the hospital emergency department setting.   Over the past decade she found that addressing the complex chronic medical conditions of her patients during the short emergency department visits became increasingly frustrating.  She began researching alternative approaches to chronic medical conditions because she wanted to be able to provide more answers for her patients who wanted to know “why is this happening to me and what can I do?” 

The COVID-19 pandemic provided the urgency to accelerate this research, and she began training with the Institute of Functional Medicine.  Within two years, she became a certified practitioner, equipped with a systematic framework to identify and address the underlying dysfunctions causing imbalance and disease in each individual.  It is an honor to practice medicine in this way, integrating conventional medicine with functional medicine and complementary therapies to enhance patient health and well-being.
